From 27th October to 30th October, 2019 Global Conference of Crowe Global was held at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park. About 260 delegates attended the conference. Mr. Jiantao Yang, Party Committee Secretary of Crowe China Certified Public Accountants (“Ruihua CPAs”), Chairman of Ruihua Group, Co-Chairman of Crowe Global, and Mr. Guibin Liu, Principle Partner of Ruihua CPAs led Ruihua delegation to attend the conference. Mr. David Mellor, CEO of Crowe Global hosted the opening ceremony of the conference.

 

Before the opening up of the conference, Crowe Global Board Meeting was held on the afternoon of 26th October. Mr. Jiantao Yang and Mr. Chuck Allen, Co-Chairman of Crowe Global, co-chaired the meeting. The meeting heard the Reports of Member Updates, Report of MC actions under delegated authority, Digital transformation route map review, Report of international A&A Committee and International Tax Committee. The meeting also reviewed the agenda of the Business Meeting and the Vote Process.

 

On the afternoon of 27th October, Business Meeting of Crowe Global was held. Mr. Jiantao Yang and Co-Chairman Mr. Chuck Allen co-chaired the meeting. The meeting reviewed and approved the Minutes of 2018 Business Meeting, 2018 Audited Financial Statements, Budget for 2020, Proposed Bylaws Amendments. The meeting heard the Reports of the Board of Directors and the introduction of 5 non-executive members of the board. The meeting also reviewed the updates of member firms and heard the introduction of Russian new member firms. CEO David Mellor introduced the upcoming changes in the network. During the Global Conference, member firms have elected 5 non-executive members of the board by written votes. After the Business Meeting, Crowe Global held the First-Time Attendees Reception. Mr. David Mellor hosted the Reception and introduced the history, development, mission, core value and strategic initiative plan of Crowe Global. He also expressed his warm welcome to the first-time attendees. After the welcome reception, all delegates and guests were invited to the Welcome Reception and Dinner.

 

On the morning of 28th October, the Global Conference kicked off in the melodious song of Sydney Children Choir. Mr. Spiro Paule, Managing Partner of Crowe Australasia delivered his welcome speech on behalf of the Host Firm and introduced the development of Crowe Australasia. With over 110 offices throughout Australia and New Zealand, 3000 professionals of Crowe Australasia serve in 18 areas and provide services to more than 250,000 clients. Later on, Mr. David Mellor, CEO of Crowe Global announced the opening of the conference and delivered a speech on ‘Elevate’ Taking Crowe to the next level. Mr. Stephen Scheeler, Former CEO of Facebook Australia/New Zealand made a keynote speech on Mastering the Eight Elements of 21st Century Leadership. In the afternoon, Mr. Thomas Paule, Chief Marketing and Digital Officer from Crowe Australasia delivered a speech on Growth3 - Constructing a technology platform to support employees, clients and revenue growth, in which he introduced the integrated technology platform used by Crowe Australasia to serve all service lines. In the evening, Ruihua Delegation hosted dinner for CEO David Mellor, Regional Executive Director of Asia Pacific Mr. Yuen Lok Mok, Managing Partner of Crowe Hong Kong Mr. Charles Chan, and Representatives from Crowe Taiwan. They enjoyed a pleasant communication.

 

On the morning of 29th October, Mr. Jim Powers, CEO of Crowe LLP delivered a speech on Our Transformation Story. Crowe Global CEO David Mellor hosted and presented 2019 Pinnacle Awards. Managing Partner of Crowe France Mr. Christophe Rocard was presented Pinnacle Award for Enabling an Environment Focused on Excellence and Leadership. Crowe Spark from Crowe Belgium and Crowe LLP were presented Pinnacle Awards for Fostering a Culture of Agility to Drive Technology, Innovation, Transformation and Efficiency.

 

Subsequently, the global conference held three rounds of breakout sessions. In the first round, meetings included: Creating Depth and Breadth by Investing in and Growing GCA Services, How to Grow Transnational Business, Social Media-What Good Looks Like in 2019, Succession Planning through Partnership Models, What is the Future for Audit and When will (did) It Start. In the second round, meetings included: A Route Map for Digital Transformation, Building Brand Locally, How Member Firms Elevate the Brand, Collaboration at Work: Scope, Scale and Scandalize to Win More Transnational Work, How We Achieved Record Growth, Enhancing Standards to Drive Excellence, How is New Digital Technology Driving Global Tax Change & What Tech Tools can Help Manage Global Tax. In the third round, meetings included: How can Crowe Gain Share with Larger Listed Companies, Growth3 – Digital Transformation in Australia & New Zealand, How can We Use Tax Specialties to Increase Volume of Consulting Business with Global 360 approach, Using the Network to Attract, Develop and Retain our Talent, Working Together to Grow: Best Case Examples and Recommendations from the HTL Group. After the breakout sessions, Mr. Juan Carlos, Regional Executive of Americas for Crowe Global, introduced the digital transformation project for Ruihua Delegation and conducted Q&A session regarding the implementation of the plan.

 

On the morning of 30th October, Ms. Andrea Clarke, author of the best-seller Future Fit gave a keynote speech on Building Trust. Ms. Lynda Dupont-Blackshaw, Global Marketing Director, delivered a speech on In Crowe we Trust. Dr. Richard Harris, 2019 Australian of the Year shared his story about Leadership in the Dark, introducing the Thai cave rescue case in person. After that, CEO David Mellor delivered his closing remarks and the conference ended on a happy note.

 

After the Global Conference, Ruihua Delegation visited Auckland Office in New Zealand on 31st October. Mr. Phil Mulvey, Managing Partner of Crowe New Zealand, International Liaison Partner of Crowe Australasia expressed his welcome to the delegation and introduced the overall situation of Crowe New Zealand and Crowe Australasia. With more than 20 offices, Crowe New Zealand provides audit, tax, advisory and wealth management services, and its annual revenue reaches 81 million NZD (about 360 million RMB). Audit Partner Kent, Tax Partner Craig, Advisory Partner Martin, wealth Management Partner David attended the meeting. Attendees had in-depth exchanges on the investing prospects of Chinese enterprises in New Zealand, wealth management services of Crowe New Zealand, the economic outlook of China and the upcoming business cooperation between the two sides.
